Car found half a mile from her house.

WASHINGTON, DC: Police have confirmed that the body found inside the gray 2012 Nissan Altima belonging to Jasmine Joseph is, in fact, hers, and that the 22 year-old Indian American woman died from inhaling toxic gases in an apparent suicide.
The local CBS News affiliate is reporting that police have ruled out any sort of foul play, staying consistent with what they’ve been saying throughout the investigation. A motive has not yet been discovered for Joseph’s drastic actions. Police have also revealed that the location where Joseph’s car was found had already been searched earlier in the investigation, but that the search party had missed the automobile.
The discovery of Joseph’s body brings yet another missing persons case involving a young Indian American to a tragic end. Last month, Southern Illinois University student Pravin Varughese was missing for nearly a week before being found dead in the woods near his university, having succumbed to hypothermia. And Rice University student Reny Jose is still missing in Panama City Beach, Florida.

Speaking to local media earlier today, a police spokeswoman told reporters that a female body was found inside the car, but that they could not confirm if it was Joseph’s or not. Law enforcement agencies have not confirmed a timeline on when such an announcement will be made, but forensics work is likely underway.
The gray 2012 Nissan Altima sedan was found at the Syosset Plaza, not far from where Joseph, 22, lived. Police found the car just off the Jericho Turnpike in the early morning hours today, around 1:00 A.M., with the keys still inside the automobile. Joseph was said to be driving the car on the day she went missing; although she told her parents she was returning home from the library at the New York Institute of Technology, it was later revealed that she was actually returning from a local Lifetime Fitness gym.
The car has been taken to a police impound lot, and was correctly identified as being Joseph’s car from its license plate — GAD-3453. Meanwhile, her parents continue to plead for their daughter to come home, and although police have ruled out foul play in the young woman’s disappearance, the parents are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to their daughter’s discovery.
Sony and Lovely Joseph have told investigators and the local media that their daughter had no boyfriend, to their knowledge, and there had been no altercation that could have led Joseph to run away. The last year of Joseph’s life are shrouded in mystery — she told her parents she was going to school, but was not; she used her father’s credit card to pay her tuition, but never attended classes; and now, she has fallen off the grid with no prior indication nor any apparent motive.

You don’t go to the gym and then just commit suicide. And you don’t hide your own body on the floor of the back seat.
Long Island PD please please look at the possibility that this young woman was murdered or harmed in some way that caused her death. What about all of the young girls whose bodies were found around Gilgo beach? What about the recent arrest of a Monroeville man arrested for the cold case murders of two young prostitutes? Any connection to these cases? Can’t imagine all of these unsolved murders of young women in/around the same area being unrelated. I live in California and did some research on these crimes after watching a show about the Gilgo beach discoveries. Forgive me if I’ve misspelled names of places or areas.
