As a conservative, on the GOP platform.

WASHINGTON, DC: Rekha ‘Becky’ Sharma, a business owner from Florissant, Missouri, is making a run for the 68th State District seat in the Missouri House of Representatives.
Sharma, running as a Republican, is advocating a strongly Conservative platform. In a press release announcing her candidacy, Sharma says that she is pro-life, and will fight for limited government, work to create jobs to boost the local economy, and lower taxes if she is elected to represent the constituents of her district.
“Minorities and naturalized citizens tend to have very conservative values: belief in family and the value of entrepreneurship and hard work, and so on,” she says on her official campaign website. “Immigrants come from places where they don’t have it as good as we do here, and they don’t have the liberties and opportunities that we have here. They are attracted by the American dream. I am certainly no exception.”
That district is located on the eastern edge of the state, bordering Illinois, and is comprised primarily of St. Louis county. Florissant is its biggest city, with a population of over 52,000. The 68th District is currently represented by Keith English, a Democrat, and so far no other Republicans have entered the fray for the seat, meaning Sharma will likely proceed onto the general election in November.
She has lived in the Florissant area for 11 years, where she resides with her husband and their cat. Sharma is the president and CEO of Rekha Enterprises-Exotic & Rare Global Artifacts, a retail business she runs out of her house. She was previously a financial adviser at John Hancock Financial Network and a substitute teacher in the Webster Groves School District, and holds a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, in political science.
