NEW DELHI: It seems apart from acting, singing has become another passion for actors these days. With actors like Shraddha Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Salman Khan lending voice for their respective films, it’s now Akshay Kumar’s turn to do the same.
For the promotion of his upcoming film Entertainment, Akshay declared he would perform live in front of the media. He will be recording a live song for the film today, on July 23rd.
In a statement, Akshay said that usually filmmakers call the media while shooting for the film or for its premiere. However, they never call them for a song recording.
The 47-year old actor also tweeted: “Looking forward to entertain the media and you guys live tomorrow at 4 pm on youtube.com/Tips music. So be there, kyunki sabko chahiye #Entertainment.”
Akki is visibly excited about his first live singing performance. He has been practicing for the song for the past few days. When asked, he said: “Bina riyaaz ke to gaana mushkil hoga”.
The song has been composed by music director Chirantan Bhatt. Akshay has been going along with him the song over several jamming sessions. Although it will not be featured in the film, yet is a part of it, as it is related to the theme of entertainment.
Earlier, Akshay has also lent his voice to songs like mujh me tu from the film Special 26. Let’s see how he performs first before going gaga over his career as a singer of repute. He may well gather a following for his rendition, like Aamir Khan did with his ‘Khandala’ song or Tamil actor Dhanush did for the ‘Kolaveri’ number. As of going to press, there was no word yet on how well Akki crooned.
Directed by debutant duo Sajid-Farhad, Entertainment will be hitting theaters on August 8th.
