MUMBAI: Emraan Hashmi is up next with ‘Raja Natwarlal’, his solo release of the year and the trailer doesn’t really put him in great light. It looks like the film’s heavily inspired by the ‘Jannat’ series, and showcases him for the umpteenth time as a master conman.
The first song of the film was released recently and that seems to be on its way to being a blockbuster hit.
Arijit Singh, who rose to fame with songs like Dilliwali Girlfriend and the famous Aashiqui number, is back with yet another soulful song Tere Ho Ke Rahenge. The lyrics have been written by Irshad Kamil; Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed its music. The soulful song shows the main leads romancing in the rain.
The Times of India reported that for the first time in his career Emraan, who is normally used to kissing his actresses, got kissed by his actress in this film. And as expected, Emraan was obviously not happy.
The director of the film, Kunal Deshmukh, told the Times, “There was a scene in the film where the girl needed to kiss the boy. It was unusual for Emraan as I had to tell him to do nothing. And I told him, ‘Stand back, relax and just get kissed.’ He said, ‘But I don’t do this normally. I can’t do this.’ Then he said, ‘Achcha okay, poor girl, it’s her first Hindi film. Chalo, I will do it.’
The 26-year-old Pakistani actress, Humaima Malick, who is paired opposite Emraan in the movie, said her perception about the ‘Jannat’ actor changed drastically after starring in the crime-comedy film
“I was worried about becoming Emraan Hashmi’s heroine in the film. I had some mis-conceptions about him which I had developed after watching his films. But the moment I met him, all those theories about him proved false as he is an extremely shy person in real life. He is not only a good actor but a good husband and father too. I am lucky that Emraan gave me one of the most memorable roles of my career,” Humaima told PTI in an interview.
The model-turned-actress admits that the kissing scenes in the film bothered her initially but she agreed as they went with the story.
Produced by Sidharth Roy Kapur of UTV motion pictures, the film is set to release on August 29th.
