NEW DELHI: The Aamir Khan-starrer Dhoom 3, the most successful film in India’s box office history, the franchise of which has been compared to Fast and Furious, is continuing to wow international audiences.
After breaking into the Turkish top ten, the film has now managed to break into the limelight in the much more lucrative Chinese market. Dhoom 3 entered the Chinese top ten charts at number 9, beating the local Chinese romance No Zou No Die.
Released on July 25, the film earned an impressive $1.35 million in the three-day weekend. Dhoom 3 is now on target to become the biggest Indian film released in China.
The film is an action thriller and focuses on the story of Sahir (Aamir Khan) who swears revenge on Anderson (Andrew Bicknell) in front of whom his father (Jackie Shroff) commits suicide because of the inability to repay a loan. Aamir has brought out the best in Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Kapoor as well in the film. Katrina Kaif, however, sparkles as her own self in songs only.
Though the story revolves around the time tested cat and mouse chase, its special effects and designs are what makes it outstanding and a crowd favorite.
Dhoom 3 got the Filmfare award for Best Special Effects, Star Guild award for Best Special Effects and last but not the least, the Zee Cine award for Best Action and Best Production Design.
India’s commercial film industry is carving a name for itself in the international market with recent films like Rajnikanth’s Robot, Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One, Hrithik Roshan’s Krishh, and now Aamir’s Dhoom 3 being appreciated by audiences worldwide.
