NEW DELHI: The socially relevant popular television show Satyamev Jayate will be back with host and actor Aamir Khan, who has used the small screen medium to get involved in the sufferings of the common folks of India, and find solutions to alleviate it.
Aamir launched the show’s third season with a quick glance on some of the previous episodes that were broadcast. The main concern of the show is to spread awareness about the prevailing social issues of the ‘other’ India that is lagging behind urban India in economic growth.
Earlier, the show had people speaking their heart out to Aamir Khan. But this time, celebrities will be the part of the show, not to entertain but to talk about the issues with others.
To reach more audience, Aamir will be interacting live via Twitter and Facebook. While the previous show had impressive word of mouth and touched topics like child sexual abuse, rapes, domestic violence, medical malpractice among others, the topics of this season have been kept under covers.
At the launch, he shared that he has learnt a lot from the problems of the people and how they have the strength to overcome them. He ended the event with those hopeful words “Mumbkin hai”- change is possible.
Satyamev Jayate is slated to go on air on September 21 this year with six episodes on Star. To provide easy access to rural people, Doordarshan will be telecasting each episode simultaneously.
