WASHINGTON, DC: An Indian man from Hicksville, New York, was charged with battery after police determined that he had groped two women employees inappropriately at a haunted house attraction in Aurora, Illinois.
Ameet Kumar, 30, was charged with two counts of battery following the incident at the Basement of the Dead haunted house in downtown Aurora this past weekend, reported The Beacon-News.
Officers said that at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Kumar was at the local haunted house where he touched and groped two women – a 20-year-old and a 40-year-old employee.
The 20-year-old victim said she was working inside the haunted house when Kumar grabbed her buttocks several times. The second victim said she was also inappropriately touched by Kumar in the chest as he left the building.
According to Aurora spokesman Dan Ferrelli, employees phoned police and were able to stop Kumar from leaving the scene. Both victims signed local ordinance battery complaints against Kumar.
Kumar was told to appear in court on November 10, Ferrelli said, reported CBS.
This marks the second alleged assault to occur at Fox Valley haunted houses this Halloween season, the Beacon-News reported.
The first allegations were made earlier this month against employees of the Massacre Haunted House in Montgomery. An Oswego mother alleged that she and her daughter were assaulted by two actors while visiting the business on October 11.
