The mother of all weddings.
By Bada Jasoos
WASHINGTON, DC: Watch out Salman Khan. All the bhais of India – not the underworld, don types – but brothers who have marriageable sisters waiting to get married – hate you now.
Sallu bhai, your next film is going to face a ban by all these frustrated and angry bhais, just like the photographers association put a ban on you. And you very well know the reason: how many brothers in India can afford to gift their sister (adopted or not) a around $2.75 million (Rs. 16 crores) three BHK apartment on Carter Road in Mumbai, like you did for Arpita, who is going to get married to Aayush Sharma tomorrow, on Tuesday.
The bhais all over also hate it that you chose a real palace for the wedding, the Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad, making it for real your sister’s childhood wish come true. Of course, Sallu bhai, to you it doesn’t matter that the cost of renting that palace is a mere Rs. 2-3 crores a day, and you have casually booked it for five days.
For most girls, the sapna of a wedding in a palace dressed like a princess stays a sapna, never becomes a haqueeqat.
But guess what, and it might come as a surprise to you, you big show-off Sallu Bhai, most brothers in India cannot afford even an hour of renting that palace in Hyderabad for their sister’s wedding.
And all those poor and rich alike wretched other bhais of India are mad at you for the fact that those five days at the Falaknuma Palace does not even include the post-marriage reception, which is in Mumbai. Which palace are going to book for that Sallu bhai? The Gateway of India?
Salman Khan, you bhai of all bhais, how can other brothers treat their wedding guests to simple naan, rice and chicken from now on, when your menu for Arpita’s wedding comprises of Hyderabadi biryani, Kache gosh ki biryani, Khobani ka meetha, Haleem, Dahi ka kabab and Fum ka murgh. (Hope you tweet how it all tasted bhai!)
Well Salman bhai, maybe the brothers of India are going to hate you a lot, but all the sisters of India are going to love you a lot more. So, don’t worry, your films will continue to be a hit.
