BENGALURU: Apple’s most awaited wearable gadget – Apple Watch, may be launched at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco, on March 9.
Apple has sent invitations to media houses for an event scheduled for that day at the venue, without disclosing details.
Yerba Buena Center has witnessed some of the major product launches of Apple whenever the company feels that Town Hall auditorium on its campus could be smaller for the expected audience turn out.
Apple CEO Tim Cook earlier said that the company will start selling Apple Watch from April but, it looks like we could see Apple Watch hitting stores earlier than expected.
Apple Watch was unveiled during the flamboyant event in September last year, which also saw the launch of Apple iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. The basic model of the new wearable gadget is priced at $349.
Apple Watch is first major product from the house of the California-based tech giant after it launched iPad in 2010. It is also considered as the brain-child of Cook, who after taking the office said the company will launch products beyond smartphones, tablets and computers.
It is also rumored that the event on March 9 could see the launch of an updated Apple TV and long-awaited 12-inch i-Pad Pro or a better MacBook Air with Retina Display.
