BENGALURU: Indian smartphone manufacturer Lava launched the company’s ultra-cheap smartphone; Iris 414 at Rs. 4,049 ($64) via its official website.
This new Lava Iris device is powered by a 1Gzh processor coupled with 512 MB RAM. It has a 4-inch TFT touchscreen display with a resolution of 480x800p. The device has an inbuilt storage capacity of 4GB which can be expanded up to 32GB using microSD card.
This new Lava smartphone is just 10.4mm thick and weighs 110gram.
Coming to the camera department of the new Iris 414, it has a 3.2 MP autofocus rear camera with digital zoom and LED flash and a VGA selfie camera. This low-cost smartphone features all general connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and USB.
The handset is backed up by a 1,400 mAh battery that boast of 12 hours of talk time on 2G network. The new Lava Iris 414 runs on KitKat OS out-of-the-box.
Iris 414 joins the slew of low-cost smartphones under Rs. 5000 price range, which is one of the booming smartphone segments in India. Also, according to statistics this segment has a greater growth potential as more first-time users prefer to own a low-cost smartphone in the country.
