WASHINGTON, DC: Police are on the hunt for a robber who held up a bank in West Scranton, Pennsylvania, according to local news outlets.
The man walked into the PNC Bank branch office at 136 S. Main Ave. around 2 p.m. with a gun and demanded money, Chief Carl Graziano said, according to the Scranton Times-Tribune.Follow @ambazaarmag
Police describe the robber as a light-skinned black man about six feet tall. They believe he wore white face paint or powder on his face, reported WNEP. He also had on a royal blue fishing hat with a blue shirt and blue pants.
After obtaining an unknown amount of cash from the teller, he absconded south on South Hyde Park Avenue in an older red Cadillac, possibly an El Dorado.
Meanwhile, a prison escapee who police suspect has carried out at least three bank robberies is in custody after being arrested in Prior Lake, Minn. early Wednesday.
Roseville Police Lieutenant Lorne Rosand informed NBC affiliate KARE 11 that 46-year-old Clint Eldeen was taken into custody at Little Six Casino around 4 a.m. without incident. Rosand says he was recognized by casino security officers who then notified Prior Lake Police.
Eldeen was serving a 20-year sentence for writing bad checks when he escaped from a minimum security unit at the South Dakota State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls late last week.
Authorities believe he stole a vehicle left running by a pizza delivery man and drove to the Twin Cities, where he allegedly robbed a Bremer Bank on Saturday. Richfield Police say a man matching Eldeen’s description then robbed two additional banks, one a TCF and the other a Wells Fargo, on Tuesday afternoon.
