Avoids clash with India Day parade in New Jersey.

NEW YORK: The inaugural Pakistan Day parade in New Jersey, to celebrate Pakistan’s 69th Independence Day celebrations, will be held along Oak Tree Road, Edison, on August 16.
The parade route is along Oak Tree Road starting in the Township of Edison at 1 pm, and ending in Woodbridge Township.
The parade organizers promise: “Oak Tree Road, between Edison and Iselin, will be filled with dozens of floats, marching bands, musicians, and dignitaries, concluding with a cultural program that will offer everyone present the opportunity to see the beautiful traditions of Pakistan in addition to modern culture.”
At the end of the parade route, which will turn onto Middlesex Avenue, there will be the Pakistan Day Festival, which will host a variety of food, vendors and celebrated artists who will perform live on stage.
There will be special musical performances by artists Fariha Pervez, Raheem Shah, Komal Malik, Waqas Ali, and Haider Afzal.
The Board of Trustees of the parade are: Sam Khan, Dr. M. Zubair, Mian Aziz, Tauqeer Ul Haq, and Mateen Abbas.
The Executive Committee of the parade comprise of the following members: Chairman – Dr. M Zubair; President – Sam Khan; Sr. Vice President – Tauqeer Sheikh; Executive Vice President – Dr. Farooq Rehman; Vice President – Imtiaz Syed; Vice President – Hasan Syed; Vice President – Nick Salim; Vice President – Mohd. The annual India Day Parade in New Jersey will be held this year on August 9. The event is held a week before to avoid a clash with the main India Day parade in New York City, which this year will be held on August 16.

The India Day parade in New Jersey will start around 1:30 pm at the intersection of Oak Tree Road and Cinder Road (behind Lincoln Technical Institute) in Edison and go down Oak Tree Road and end at Middlesex Ave in Iselin, where there will be some cultural performances, according to the organizers.
