Software giant Infosys Ltd will be setting up three more campuses in Bangalore at an investment of $290 million, which, it says, will generate 27,000 new jobs.
The State High Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC), headed by the Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah approved a proposal from Infosys on August 29, a government statement said.
Of the three proposed campuses, one will be developed in the electronic city, while two other campuses would be developed at Konappana Agrahara in Bengaluru South.
Infosys is investing Rs.625 crore in its Konappana Agrahara campus, which is spread over 10.04 acres, to create an estimated 8,500 new jobs. Another IT park would be developed in the same area at a cost of Rs 1,079 crore. This is expected to create 15,000 new employment opportunities.
The electronic city campus would be developed with an investment of Rs.216 crore, where the company will generate 3,500 job opportunities.
The state government also cleared other projects during the meeting including proposals from Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited and Biosciences Pvt Ltd.
