Doctor and a nurse arrested.

The head of a baby got separated from its body during delivery as it was allegedly pulled out of the mother’s womb forcefully at the district hospital in Rampur, in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
A woman doctor, Taiyaba Iqbal, and staff nurse, Madhuri, have been arrested in connection with the horrible incident.
The police have registered a case against them under Sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 315 (prevent child being born alive or to cause it to die after birth) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and investigation have been started.
According to reports, when the legs of the baby came out first, the doctor tied a rope to the baby’s limb and tried to remove it from the mother’s womb. But since the force was unbearable to the baby’s body, the head of the sensitive baby got separated from its body in the mother’s womb.
After the incident, the hospital staff allegedly put the headless body of the baby in a bin and the doctor started surgery to remove the stuck head from the mother’s body.
The 35-year-old mother was admitted to the hospital for delivery on Saturday. She is a local of Ahmadnagar-Tarana village in Rampur. She was taken to thelabor room on Sunday evening for surgery.
The shocking incident was revealed on Monday when local people came up with allegations against the hospital.
Fashat Khan Shanoo, PRO of Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister and local MLA Mohammed Azam Khan said that the minister has expressed anguish over the incident and asked the local authorities to take necessary action.
Members of Uttarakhand Women’s Welfare Association, who visited the hospital, said that the woman was not being treated with proper care.
Dr. Shankar Lal Saraswat, Chief Medical Officer of Health said that a detailed enquiry would be started soon.
