Police have arrested six students of class XI studying at a government school for allegedly killing a 23-year-old daily wage laborer in Rama Mandi town of Bathinda district in the state of Punjab, on Tuesday.
The victim was identified as Manpreet Singh alias Gora of Rama Mandi. The police suspect that the students had an argument with him and it eventually ended up in murder.
According to the police, Gora was killed by a kirpan (small sword) worn by one of the boys after school hours on Tuesday. The boy who had worn the sword is a baptized Sikh.
Local people took Gora to a local hospital, but couldn’t save his life.
