Similar to infamous 2012 Delhi gang rape case, a 29-year-old Dalit girl was brutally raped and murdered in her own home in Perumbavoor, near Kochi, Kerala on April 28th.
The autopsy report has revealed that she was sexually assaulted and beaten using a sharp weapon that pulled out her internal organs.
More than thirty injuries were found on her body; two sides of her chest were pierced using a sharp knife and her genitals struck using an iron rod. The main reason of her death is a severe injury on head, the report says.
Jisha (29), a law student, was found dead by her mother Rajeswari, who the police say, is mentally unstable, at their house on Thursday night after Rajeswari returned from her daily wage work.
Jisha was last seen by neighbors in the afternoon when she had gone to fill water near her house. The police assume she was assaulted between 1 and 5 pm. But the neighbors say they didn’t hear anything.

The deceased is survived by her married sister and her father, who has been living separately from the family for years.
Many people joined the social media campaign to ensure justice for the victim. The campaign blamed the authorities for neglecting the case due to assembly poll rush they also questioned the efficiency of the police.
Using the hashtag #JusticeforJisha, the users expressed their agitation on the delay in nabbing the culprits, even after a week since the incident.
“We have formed an SIT and investigation is on. Since the area is heavily populated by inter-state workers the probe team is exploring all possibilities,” home minister Ramesh Chennithala Said.
The brutal gang rape of a 23-year old medical student Jyothi Singh in Delhi four years ago by a group of men had sparked widespread outrage. Thousands of people protested on the roads, forcing the government to bring in a stringent law like the Nirbhaya Act to deal with rising crime against women.

Shocking and very unfortunate, What will happen if some Juvenile is involved then government will provide him the financial assistant ?
Why government is,
– Not increasing rape punishment from 7 years.
– Not abolishing juvenile law completely.
– Not implementing that different punishments for every crime should go separately and not simultaneously,
