A four-minute video posted by a stay-at-home mother of two from Texas has broken all records and has become the most viewed Facebook live video of all time.
Candace Payne wanted to show everyone the Chewbacca mask she bought as a birthday gift for herself. With a few minutes to spare, she wore the Chewbacca mask and started speaking on the live video. As the mask produced the braying sound every time she opened her mouth, she couldn’t control and burst into laughter.
The video titled ‘It’s the simple joys’ has seen by more than 140 million people by now.
“I only had a few minutes before I had to get my kids from school,” Candace Payne told James Corden on CBS’s “The Late Late Show” on Monday night.
“I wanted to prove to all my Facebook friends and family that that mask was mine… I knew the moment that [my kids] saw it, they were going to take it from me. And I’m like, ‘I didn’t buy it for you, little kids,” she added.
Her two-minute laughter has gone viral and the mask on the video was completely sold out.
“I could see myself in the camera, and I saw this view and I could not stop laughing at how gleeful Chewbacca looked. I thought Chewbacca’s found his joy! When you are a stay-at-home mom, every now and then you just need an adult conversation. Like please, someone else out there in the universe or internet tell me I’m not the only one who finds this funny,” she told the BBC.
