Brutal gang rape of a bar singer happened in a moving car.

Three persons have been arrested in connection with the alleged gang rape of a 24-year-old woman in Salt Lake’s Sector-V in Kolkata.
The arrested are all cab drivers of IT companies. They were arrested from a hideout at Haroa in North 24-Parganas district, reported PTI. One person is still absconding and the police have started a search to nab him.
The three were arrested on Monday night after the police started an investigation following the complaint filed by the victim. The police had collected the CCTV footage of the incident and identified the accused.
According to the police, the incident happened on Sunday night when the woman who works as singer at a bar on VIP road went to a multiplex at Sector-V at Salt Lake to meet a friend.
A man approached her and asked her whether she was waiting for someone. She then asked him for direction to an address.
The woman told police that she had seen him calling someone on the mobile phone. Soon an SUV approached her and the man pushed her into the vehicle and it drove off.
There were four or five persons in the vehicle. Soon they started beating up her and then they allegedly gang raped her taking turns.
The victim was dumped on the roadside at Sector-1 in Salt Lake in an unconscious state. A taxi driver who saw the woman informed the police, who rescued her on Monday morning.
The police have recorded the statement of the woman and a case of gang rape has been registered against four or five unknown persons.
