A Nigerian woman was tied up and taken to the hospital after she got into an argument with a shopkeeper in Bengaluru, on Monday. She was sedated at the hospital when she created a ruckus, reported The Hindu.
A video of her arguing with the police at the hospital and being tied up was posted on YouTube.
The woman identified as Namplima Mariam had gone to National Market for shopping with her friend. She entered a mobile phone shop inside the market. As the shopkeeper did not attend to her, she hit the glass counter twice breaking the glass with a loud noise.
“She was told not to do, as the glass might break. Hearing this, she banged the counter again. The glass broke, leaving her with wounds on her hands,” a witness told The Hindu.
Soon the shopkeepers gathered around the lady and they exchanged heated words. She attacked everyone who tried to reason with her. Meanwhile, the police reached the market.
The police tied up her with a rope and took her to K.C. General Hospital in Malleswaram in an auto rickshaw. But the lady refused to get down from the auto and turned violent when they reached the hospital for medical tests.
The lady got into an altercation with the police and the hospital staff. When she was arguing with the police, someone came from behind and threw a bed sheet on her. Then the police tied her up and she was sedated. She also tried to strip off her clothes while being tied up. She was taken to NIMHANS for further treatment.
