Google has announced the launch of ‘Family Library’, a new feature that helps to share Google Play services with up to six family members.
Family Library will allow the user to share entire Google Play library like movies, games, music and books. The feature will roll out soon to Android as well as iOS supporting devices.
This feature will also extend to other platforms like web apps, Roku, Android TV and Smart Tv for some content and will allow the users family members to download the same across any Android or iOS device, or tablet.
Reports say that ‘Family Library’ is somewhat identical to Apple’s Family Sharing system, which also allows us to add up to six family members to a Family Sharing account.
The pricing is also very similar, with both companies charging $14.99 for Google Play Music and Apple Music Family Sharing plans.
In both services, individual members have the option to make payment through their own credit cards or gift cards.
It was in 2014, almost two years ago, Apple first offered Family sharing that also allows family members to sync photo streams, a common calendar and even location history.
The Google’s service will be primarily available in US, UK, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico and New Zealand.
