Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton targeted the Republican nominee Donald Trump on his flawed economic agendas.
In a speech in Warren, Michigan, on Thursday, Clinton said that in contrast to her rival her economic plans will create more than 10 million new jobs.
“Now when it comes to creating jobs, I would argue it’s not even close. Even conservative experts say Trump’s agenda will pull our economy back into recession,” Clinton said. “And according to an independent analysis by a former economic adviser to Senator John McCain, if you add up all of Trump’s ideas from cutting taxes for the wealthy and corporations, to starting a trade war with China, to deporting millions of hardworking immigrants, the result would be a loss of 3.4 million jobs.”
Clinton said that Trump plans to elevate his already-rich friends at the cost of US economy. The former secretary of state insinuated that her Republican rival’s motive is to fill his and his rich friends’ coffers.
“It is just not right that Donald Trump can ignore his debts but students and families can’t refinance their debt,” Clinton said. “My message to every worker in Michigan and across America is this: I will stop any trade deal that kills jobs or holds down wages including the Trans-Pacific Partnership.”
Apparently, Clinton was responding to Trump’s Detroit speech where he told his audience that he would soon unroll his position on several issues facing America. “Every policy that has failed this city, and so many others, is a policy supported by Hillary Clinton,” said Trump.
The Republican presidential nominee said that their campaign is the campaign of the future.
“As part of this new future, we will also be rolling out Proposals to increase choice and reduce cost in childcare, offering much needed relief to American families. I will unveil my plan on this in the coming weeks that I have been working on with my daughter Ivanka and an incredible team of experts,” he said. “In short, the city of Detroit is the living, breathing example of my opponent’s failed economic agenda.”
Clinton’s speech is seen as a positive and befitting reply to Trump’s economic plans.
“Hillary Clinton is set to go after Donald Trump’s economic agenda, aiming to portray her rival’s approach as offering handouts for the rich that could imperil the economy,” The Hindu reported. “The goal of her speech on Thursday afternoon at manufacturing company in Warren, Michigan, was to play up her focus on job development, public works projects and tax policy while trying to undercut the celebrity businessman’s approach.”
