BANGALORE: With only days away from ‘Holiday’, his next release on covert op forces in India, the trailer of Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film ‘It’s Entertainment’ hits YouTube, and the ripple spread all over social media.
‘It’s Entertainment’ is not just a comedy, it’s a canine comedy. Which means there will be a lot of ‘dog-humor’ in this film, something you usually don’t find in Bollywood films. According to sources, the film was originally scheduled for a May 2 release, but now it has been postponed to August 8, a week before Akshay’s next release ‘Gabbar’, where he plays a vigilante set to right the wrongs in society.
The film also stars Mithun Chakraborty and Tamannaah Bhatia. It is the third Bollywood film for Tamannaah. Before ‘It’s Entertainment’ this Telugu industry starlet had made her debut alongside Ajay Devgn in Sajid Khan’s Himmatwala. Her next Bollywood film is to be Humshakals, also being directed by Sajid Khan.
‘It’s Entertainment’ is directed by Sajid-Farhad, debutant-duo who are known for writing many comedy films. The soundtrack of the film is being composed by Sachin-Jigar. Atif Aslam will be singing for this film.
An official plot of the film has not yet been released but one can get some idea of the story from the trailer: Akshay Kumar plays a penniless young man whose millionaire illegitimate father dies leaving behind a huge fortune. His father having no legitimate heir, Akshay feels the fortune is his for the grab. But as luck would have it, his late father had named his dog the heir to his fortune. Yes, that’s right, a dog inherits a man’s money. And the name of the dog is Entertainment.
What follows is a series of hilarious situations as Akshay Kumar tries to get the money away from the dog. The trailer also features Sonu Sood and Prakash Raj, whom Akshay proudly introduces as ‘Dabanng 1 ke villain’ and ‘Dabanng 2 ke villain’, goons Akshay has brought in to help him with his dog problem.
Let us see how this canine comedy fares at the box office. Does it sit, stay, or roll over.
