WASHINGTON, DC: MGM Resorts International has announced that it will be hiring thousands of individuals for jobs at its brand-new casino and resort, which is set to be constructed at the scenic National Harbor in southern Maryland.
The new MGM destination will be hiring 2,000 workers for construction, 4,000 to operate the resort, and another 4,000 in what have been called “supporting industries,” such as business analysis and the legal department. Those who are looking to apply are advised to have a focused resume, strong references, a clean criminal record, and soft skills. Training will be provided by MGM for jobs that need it.
Maryland is hoping to become another center for legal gambling in the US, and is in the process of constructing and opening dozens of potentially lucrative casino properties across the state. The National Harbor is considered one of the most scenic destinations in the Washington, DC-metropolitan area; located near the nation’s capital and right in between Maryland and Virginia, it is full of great restaurants, an outlet mall, and, of course, water-based activities.
Currently, those in the DC area who are looking for legal gambling tend to go either to West Virginia, where Charlestown has become a popular destination for betting on everything from casino games to horse races, or they go all the way up north to Atlantic City, which is arguably the biggest gambling destination in the US outside of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Those who believe they are qualified to work at the new MGM casino and resort in the National Harbor, and would like to apply for one of the thousands of openings that will become available in the coming months, are encouraged to visit www.mgmnationalharbor.com/jobs for more information.
