WASHINGTON, DC: The world’s smallest woman, Jyoti Amge, who is all of two feet tall, will star in the FX channel anthology series, American Horror Story, which will premiere in October.
The series has just Amge, the world’s smallest living woman, E! News reported. The 20-year-old Indian woman proudly holds that title, standing at 2′ 0.6″ according to the Limca Book of Records and Guinness Book of Records, and now she’ll hold a new title: AHS: Freak Show cast member.
AHS: Freak Show executive producer Ryan Murphy announced the new addition to the series on Twitter on Thursday, while also sharing a photo of AHS alum Jessica Lange hugging her new co-star.
“Jessica [Lange] and our newest cast member,” Murphy tweeted. “Jyoti Amge…the world’s smallest woman.”
There were no details of what Amge’s role is going to be in the series, or which character she would play.
Set in 1952 in Jupiter, Florida, the new season stars AHS frequent flyers Lange, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett and Frances Conroy, plus newbies Patti LaBelle, Michael Chiklis, Wes Bentley and John Carroll Lynch, said the E report.
Amge, who is a native of Nagpur, has a genetic disorder called achondroplasia, reported US Weekly. In 2009, she was featured in a documentary called Body Shock: Two Foot Tall Teen. The television series tells the stories of outstanding real-life people. She was also featured on a reality TV show in India that is supposedly similar to Big Brother.
