MUMBAI: Rapper, singer and composer Yo Yo Honey Singh has launched his new music album “Desi Kalakaar”. It’s available exclusively on digital music destination Hungama.
“This album has less party songs. There is no alcohol song in it. It is a very romantic and dance-based album. It is something new from Yo Yo Honey. A new avatar of him as ‘Desi Kalakaar’,” said the rapper, who has churned out hits like “Blue Eyes”, “Brown rang” and “Dope shope” in the past.
Talking about his singing style for “Desi Kalakaar”, Honey Singh said: “So far you have seen me doing the rap, but in this album I have sung almost 70 percent and just a little bit rap.”
The music sensation in a statement said that this album shows his journey from a rapper to a singer. Presented by T-Series, “Desi Kalakaar” has seven tracks and their videos will be uploaded at regular intervals.
For the title track of the album, Honey Singh signed actress Sonakshi Sinha to feature in its video. The director for the title song video, Gifty, has visualised a typical Bollywood plot, executed with style. With a cop chases the bad guy routine, the music video shows the story of a couple.
Honey Singh said: “She is looking really good in the video. I think she is the main charm of the video. I really want to thank Sonakshi for her support and being a part of this video”.
However, seemingly, the stress of the new release might be getting to him. Honey Singh was reportedly too wound up before the launch of the music reality show Raw Star and got extremely emotional and nervous on the sets. It was only when his wife Shalini came in like a knight in shining armor did he calm down, reported a leading publication.
An obvious surprise to most of his fans is the fact that Honey Singh got married well before his huge Bollywood success. The latest episode of India’s Raw Star witnessed a different and a romantic side to the rapper. Not only did he introduce his wife to the audience, but also went on praising and appreciating the love of his life.
Recently when the rapper was asked if he would act again, after his Bollywood debut in Xpose, he said “Acting in films? Not at all. I cannot do it, that is very tough. I tried, but that’s not my cup of tea. I will stick to making music only,” he said.
