New year celebrations hosted by Kavila Entertainment.

WASHINGTON, DC: Kavila Entertainment hosted a lavish new year’s celebration on Wednesday night, headlined by the presence of – and a performance by – Bollywood sweetheart Esha Deol.
Deol, the daughter of Hindi cinema legends Dharmendra and Hema Malini, lit up the evening as she hosted a Q&A with attendees, took pictures with fans, and performed dynamite dance numbers to help usher out 2014 and bring in the new year.
The event was held at the Sheraton Premiere in Tysons Corner, VA, hosted by Lavika Bhagat Singh of Kavila Entertainment. Deol said that this was her first visit to Virginia, but got huge cheers from the crowd when she spoke about what a great time she was having on her inaugural visit to the state.
Although her filmography over the last several years has been sparse, Deol first made a name for herself when she debuted in the film Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe in 2002, which garnered her a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. After that, however, she had several films which did only average business – Na Tum Jaano Na Hum (co-starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan), Chura Liya Hai Tumne (with Zayed Khan), and Yuva, which featured an all-star cast including Ajay Devgn, Rani Mukherjee, Kareena Kapoor, and Abhishek Bachchan.
However, Deol is best remembered for her role as Sheena in the 2004 superhit Dhoom, which did huge business at the box office and spawned two sequels, both of which were even more successful. Although Deol did not act in Dhoom 2 and Dhoom 3, she had a few more hits on her resume – including No Entry and Dus – before fading from Bollywood.
In 2012, she married boyfriend Bharat Takhtani, a businessman from Mumbai. Takhtani was also present at the new year’s event in Tyson’s Corner. Although Deol did not specifically address her plans for future Bollywood endeavors, there appear to be no upcoming projects on her resume currently.
