More than 200 Bihar-based Indian Americans gathered at Times Square and held a ‘Litti Pe Charcha’, a discussion, aimed at the ongoing Bihar state assembly elections, on Saturday.
‘Litti Pe Charcha’ was inspired from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s famous ‘Chai Pe Charcha’, and ‘Litti’ is a popular dish in Bihar.

The first phase of the five-phase polling for the Bihar assembly began on Monday. Narendra Modi’s BJP-lead NDA has been predicted to win majority seats by pre-poll surveys.
The members who gathered at the iconic tourist destination sent a message to the youth in the state to exercise their franchise in the poll.
They also discussed some of the crucial issues faced by the state for decades, including unemployment, corruption, poverty, migration, law and order and agriculture. Participants also expressed their opinion on what they expected from the future government, said a PTI report.
Some of the participants voiced their support for a BJP-led government for realizing the development vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
