Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s hit movie ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ will be screened at the International Film Festival of India 2015, Goa that will be held on November 20 to 30th.
Marathi film ‘Court’, which is India’s official entry in the best foreign language film category of the upcoming 88th academy awards, also will be screened at the Indian Panorama section.
‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ features an Indian’s adventurous journey into Pakistan, helping a blind girl to reach home after she accidentally crosses the volatile border. The movie directed by Kabir Khan emerged as a big commercial success grossing over ₹6.25 billion worldwide and in the process became the second highest grossing Indian film.
Chaitanya Tamhane’s directorial debut ‘Court’ examines the Indian legal system through the trial of an ageing folk singer at a sessions court in Mumbai. The film won the best feature film award at the 62nd national film awards, which honoured films released in 2014.
The Jury headed by filmmaker Aribam Syam Sharma has selected 26 films out of 230 eligible entries from different film industries in India. Seven Bengali films selected for the Indian Panorama feature films section include ‘Rajkahini’, a film about Bengal’s Partition in 1947.
