Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will be visiting India this month. While Nadella will be on a personal visit, Pichai is coming to India for an official mission.
This will be Pichai’s first international visit after taking charge as the CEO of the tech giant. He will explain his vision for India during the visit. The Indian American will be visiting President Pranab Mukherjee and attending a dinner at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Pichai is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expected to make an announcement of some initiatives as part of the premier’s pet Digital India project. Both of them had met at the headquarters of Google in Mountain View, CA, when Modi visited the Silicon Valley in September.
Google had agreed to provide free wifi at 400 railway stations in India. This project is expected to be launched by Pichai. He is also expected to make a keynote address at the “Google for India” event on December 16 in New Delhi.
Nadella will be in India for a few days and he is expected to spend more time with his parents in Hyderabad. He had visited India a month ago to attend Microsoft’s Flagship Future Unleashed event. He had met important customers, partners and developers during the visit.
Nadella is scheduled to visit T-Hub in Hyderabad, considered the largest technology incubator in India, which accommodates more than 130 startups.
It was launched in collaboration with IIT-Hyderabad, Indian School of Business, and NALSAR University of Law. Business Standard, quoted a top state official saying, “He is coming on a personal visit to Hyderabad for four to five days. His only official program is T-Hub visit.”
Earlier Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg had visited India and had hosted an open session at IIT-Delhi.
