A 31-year-old married woman from Delhi was allegedly gang raped in a car by three men in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday.
The woman was traveling with a man called Nakul, whom she met six months ago when she visited Ghaziabad along with her husband in search of a plot of land.
The woman told police that Nakul and two others raped her in the car at Pallavapuram and they admitted her to a nursing home on the Delhi-Haridwar road.
The victim narrated she was married at the age of 17 to a man who was 35. She faced marital problems early on, and much mental agony.
She found romance with Nakul. When Nakul proposed to her, saying he wanted to marry her, she accepted.
Nakul told her that they could go to Dehradun for a court marriage and start a new life. It was while going to Dehradun with Nakul, that she was raped by him and other two men.
The police have registered a case of gang rape on the basis of the complaint filed by the woman They have started an investigation, and efforts are on to arrest the three accused, who have been absconding since the incident happened.
