Indian fans of Arnold Schwarzenegger will not see him play opposite superstar Rajinikanth in Enthiran 2 (Robot 2).
Reports say that the attempt of filmmakers to get Schwarzenegger to play the role of the antagonist didn’t succeed due to various reasons.
One of the main reasons why the creators of the movie dropped the efforts to cast him was his high remuneration of Rupees 120 crore (around $20 million).
The estimated budget of the upcoming movie is Rs. 250-300 crores.
Indo-Asian News Service quoted a source near to the makers of the film saying, “The team has finally decided to rope in a Bollywood actor to play the baddie. The deal with Arnold Schwarzenegger didn’t work out for various reasons. Hence, the makers decided to move on as the project was getting delayed.”
According to a report in DNA, the director of the film, Shankar, has approached Bollywood actors Hrithik Roshan and Neil Nitin Mukesh to play the role of the villain.
The shooting of the film was expected to begin in December, but now it seems like the shooting will start only in January next year.
Rajinikanth, who is busy with the shooting of Pa Ranjith’s Kabali, will complete the movie before moving on to Enthiran 2.
The movie also features Amy Jackson, who will also play the role of a robot. There are talks that one more actress will be there in the movie, but no official confirmation has come in this regard. There are reports that director Shankar is going to make a mega structure on the sets of Enthiran 2.
