According to a report published by Bloomberg, Apple Inc is supposedly making its own wireless charging technology which they believe can power up the next generation of iPhones and iPads that release as soon as next year.
Sources close to Bloomberg has confirmed that the Cupertino-based company is working with its partners in Asia and the US to develop a technology that can allow future iPhones and iPads to charge without the tangling wire chargers.
Furthermore, the source whose identity has been kept veiled by Bloomberg also revealed that the wireless technology that Apple is currently working on will be far removed from what we have seen till now. This could essentially mean that the Apple could be working on a Hi-Tech system other than the usual mats that are used nowadays as wireless chargers.
There is no confirmation yet about whether Apple will finally integrate the wireless feature into its devices as the makers are said to be resolving technical issues such as the loss of power over long distance.
With the market of iPhone and iPad growing, the company could find an additional unique selling proposition to its already soaring sales in countries like India.
The arch-rivals of Apple, Samsung and other smartphone makers such as Sony and Google have already come up with their own technologies for wireless charging, but all these are based on charging plates that require the device to be in close proximity.
One of the major issues faced by wireless chargers that are based on charging plates or mats is that the quality of power transferred to the device gets affected as the proximity decreases. This leads to slow charging and battery taking longer hours to power up.
Bloomberg also said that Trudy Muller, a spokeswoman for Apple, declined to comment when contacted.
