An injunction suit has been filed at a local court in Bengaluru seeking an order preventing the fans of superstar Rajinikanth from wasting thousands of liters of milk during the release of his films.
Pouring thousands of liters of milk on huge banners and cut-outs of the actor prior to the release of his films is very common in different parts of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.
Dr. IMS Manivannan, the petitioner, requested the court to issue orders to stop the practice.
“We have filed the injunction suit against Mr. Rajinikanth asking him to willfully come forward to stop the wastage of milk which is being poured on his cutouts,” Manivannan told The News Minute.
“He is receiving the second highest civilian award of India. So let him not continue this in the future. Let the national resource (milk) of our country not go waste,” he added.
Even though the fans of many other actors are also following the same practice, Manivannan wants the superstar to come forward and set an example by stopping it.
The court has issued a notice to Rajinikanth seeking his response to the suit filed on March 26. Next hearing will be on April 11.
Rajinikanth is currently shooting for his upcoming movie ‘2.O’ directed by Shankar.
