It seems like in his short trip to India, Apple CEO Tim Cook wants to experience the pulse of the diverse country.
After vising Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan at his home for dinner, Cook also got a taste of India’s obsession with the sport of cricket.
Cook watched the IPL cricket match between Gujarat Lions and Kolkata Knight Riders at the invitation of League chairman Rajeev Shukla.
“I had personally invited Cook to watch an IPL match and I am glad that he has accepted my invitation,” Shukla told PTI, on Thursday.
Even though it is unknown whether Cook understood what was happening in the middle, he seemed totally engrossed in the game.
“This is incredibly exciting, it’s my first cricket game. I’m hooked to it! The talent here in India is huge. We want to tap into the iOS ecosystem.” Cook told commentator Alan Wilkins.
When asked which were the three mantras that he recommends for youngsters in India, Cook said, “Three areas of success: Do what you love, put your heart into it and enjoy what you do.”
The 55-year-old Apple CEO has been having a busy schedule since he landed in Mumbai. First he paid a visit to the famous Siddhivinayak Temple, after which he accepted the invitation of Shah Rukh Khan.
In the course of his visit to India, Cook has opened a Maps development facility in Hyderabad and an app development centre in Bengaluru.
Later this week, Cook will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
