World-renowned yoga teacher Wai Lana will release her new short film and music video Alive Forever in honor of the 2nd Annual International Day of Yoga, on June 21st.
This release is a follow-up to last year’s inspirational Namaste music video, which Lana specifically produced to celebrate the first ever International Day of Yoga.
“I was so delighted and honored to receive so much positive feedback fromNamaste and to see that it encouraged people to come together in unity,” said Wai Lana, in a statement. “This year, I wanted to do something just as significant and meaningful.”
She added: “Alive Forever is very, very special to me. It has such profound wisdom that I want to share with the world on this special day. I produced Alive Forever to help people become more aware of the very valuable, fundamental teaching of yoga—Aham Brahmasmi. This teaching, that I am an eternal spiritual being, I am not my body, and I will not die when my body dies, has been meditated upon by yogis for countless centuries and can help us to appreciate that we are more than these material bodies, that we are eternal spiritual beings.”
According to Lana, “Understanding this profound truth, we can live in peace and happiness. There is no need to be sad as our body ages, rather we should feel very blessed to know this priceless jewel of wisdom.”
Lana will be releasing special content starting seven days before International Day of Yoga on WaiLana.com/AF and over social media, culminating in the June 21strelease of the Alive Forever short film and music video, according to a press release.
Lana is the host of the long-running public television series Wai Lana Yoga, which has aired in the U.S. and internationally for nearly two decades. All of her shows feature beautiful, soothing soundtracks, all of which are original vocal recordings of her own. Many of these songs are available on Wai Lana’s Yoga Sound and Yoga Music of the Heart albums, and her Namaste and Alive Forever tracks are part of a new Alive Forever album that will be released later this year.
Earlier this year, Lana was honored with Padma Shri award for her extraordinary achievements in popularizing yoga globally. Lana is one of only two Chinese nationals to ever win a Padma Shri award in its 62-year history.
