Actor Salman Khan has landed himself in a controversy after his comment that training for his wrestling movie Sultan left him feeling like a “raped woman”.
“While shooting, during those six hours, there’d be so much lifting and thrusting on the ground involved. That was tough for me because I was lifting, I’d have to lift the same 120-kilo guy 10 times for 10 different angles. And like wise, get thrown that may times on the ground. This act is not repeated that many times in the real fights in the ring. When I used to walk out of the ring, after the shoot, I used to feel like a raped woman. I couldn’t walk straight. I would eat and then, head right back to training. That couldn’t stop.” Salman said in a media interaction on Saturday.
He also urged the media not to report the quote which he had blurted out by mistake.
Later in the interview, Salman also refers to women as a vice that he can’t give up.
The comments did not go down well with many and they took Twitter to express their anger and slam Salman.
National Commission for Women has been given him seven days to apologize and NCW commissioner Lalitha Kumaramangalam said that If Salman didn’t apologize, he will be dragged to commission.
BJP spokesperson Shaina NC also asked Salman to apologize for his comments.
Sources close to Salman Khan claimed he could come out with an unconditional apology before he leaves for an award function in Madrid, NDTV reports.
Meanwhile, Salman’s father Salim Khan apologized for his son’s remarks with posts on Twitter.
“Undoubtedly what Salman said is wrong, the simili, example and the context. The intention was not wrong,” Salim Khan tweeted.
However, a section of people are also defending him with #SalmanMisquoted which started trending on Twitter.
