After the recent announcement to launch its own smart phone, Tech giant Google is now making two smart watches of its own, reports says.
The watches named Angelfish and Swordfish are based on Google’s AI assistant ‘Google Assistant’, and were revealed during the Google IO keynote earlier this year.
Angelfish is said to be like moto 360, the large size variant that will offer sizes between 42mm and 46 mm. It will boast a thickness which is equivalent to LG’s Urbane LTE with support for LTE, GPS, and a heart rate monitor. The watch will feature three buttons featuring a circular crown similar to that of other competing Android Wear devices.
Swordfish will be the smaller model, with a 42mm screen more or less resemble the Pebble Time Round. It will consist of a single button on the right-hand side and will not feature support for LTE, GPS and heart rate sensor.
Google had announced Android wear in 2014. Samsung, LG and Motorola had announced watches at that time and later other companies like Huawei, Asus and Alcatel also joined the race.
Like Google, Apple is also expecting to launch Watch 2 with enhanced features and specifications. Reports say that upcoming Apple Watch 2 is expected to be announced alongside the iPhone 7 in September. Apple Watch 2 will feature an ARM Cortex A32 processor, OLED display, front-facing camera with integrated FaceTime video camera among other features.
