The Salman Khan-starrer “Sultan”, which has the actor in a wrestler avatar, continues to do brisk business in theaters. The movie is touted to become the most successful Bollywood film ever with the box office earnings touching 71-crore in just three days’ time. If this trend continues throughout the weekend, Sultan will make its way into the 100 crore club.
Despite being working days, since the release of the movie, Salman fans have been thronging into theaters across India to see their favorite actor beat the bad guys in the ring, making the voyage of Sultan to the 100 crore club easier.
According to reports, the movie earned Rs 36.54 crore on the opening day which was followed by Rs. 37.2 crores on the second day, which was an Eid holiday.
The next two days are crucial for the makers as they hope more people will make use of the weekend to watch the movie, which could increase the collection record exponentially. They are expecting the collection to cross Rs. 150 crore mark by the end of the weekend.
The other recent Salman movies to enter the Rs. 100 crore club in three days’ time were Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo and Bajirangi Bhaijaan. On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year and Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 also achieved the feat.
Sultan has been receiving a lot of grapevine promotion with the makers having to spend little on post-release advertisements.
