A group of celebrities from India will attend a rally hosted by the Republican Hindu Coalition (RHC) to be held in New Jersey on September 24.
Bollywood actors Shahid Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Ameesha Patel, singer Kanika Kapoor, choreographer-director Prabhu Dheva will attend the event and are expected to meet Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump who is expected to address the rally.
Donald Trump will be a special guest at the event and will deliver the keynote address just two days ahead of the first Presidential debate.
Actors like Yami Gautam, Kajal Aggarwal, Shriya Saran and Ram Charan are also expected to attend the event.
The money raised from the event named “Humanity United Against Terror” will be used for the welfare of terror victims, Kashmiri Pandits and Hindu refugees from Bangladesh.
According to a report in Yahoo, Art of Living guru, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is also expected to make an appearance at the event. An earlier brochure prepared by the organizers had the photo of Ravi Shankar on it. It was withdrawn from subsequent brochures as more celebrities came in.
“Trump will be with us for nearly four hours,” Shalabh Kumar, an Illinois businessman who founded RHC, told Hindustan Times.
The organizers aim to unite the Hindu-American community. “The goal is to unite the Hindu-American community with conservative values together and expand the RHC and at the time same time help the victims of terror throughout the world,” Said Shalli Kumar.
This is the first attempt of Trump to reach out to the Indian American community, a major part of which are Hindus.
