Initial investigations suggest the involvement of drug addicts.
In a shocking incident, a 100-year-old woman was found murdered outside her home in Daun Kalan village of Punjab’s Patiala district.
The body of the deceased, Kartar Kaur, was recovered from outside her home by her neighbours in the morning who later informed her family members who were sleeping inside the house. Later, they informed police about the incident.
“She was lying half-naked on the cot with blood all over her mattress. We trailed the blood stains and found her cloths from a nearby field,†the Hindustan Times quoted the deceased’s grandson as saying.
Gurcharan Singh, son of the deceased said that she had slept alone outside the house last night while the family members were sleeping inside.
Initially, the family of the victim and the police were suspecting that the woman had been raped. Later, medical reports confirmed otherwise.
A team of officials, including District police chief GS Chauhan reached the village and take stock of the situation and monitor investigations.

A case under various sections of the law has been registered at the Sadar police station. The body has been sent to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.
