FDA issues warning.
The Food and Drug Administration has warned against the use of a new herbal coffee brand that claims to have the ability to improve the sexual health of men.
The coffee Stiff Bull touted as ‘the relationship saver,’ promises instant erections. The company claims that a cup of the drink will make men “stay harder longer,” and the effect will last for two to three days.
According to Stiff Bull website, “the coffee contains a propriety blend of ingredients such as – Tongkat Ali, maca root, and guarana. These herbs grow wild in the jungles of Malaysia and have been used for centuries by the people of Asia and South America to greatly improve sexual health, libido, and overall wellness.”
Though the company claims to have no side effects, the FDA has warned that the use of the coffee may be harmful to some people.
“FDA laboratory analysis confirmed that Stiff Bull Herbal Coffee contains desmethyl carbodenafil. Desmethyl carbodenafil is structurally similar to sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra,” said a government press release.
“This undeclared ingredient may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs such as nitroglycerin and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. Men with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease often take nitrates,” added the FDA.
However, Keith Hanson of Stiff Bull said it was the fault of the manufacturer located in Malaysia as he started adding desmethyl carbodenafil to cut the cost without his knowledge.
He claimed the company has changed the manufacturer a month ago and the consumers wouldn’t get adulterated product anymore.
