Petrol spilled accidentally and fell on Ali, says police.
In a shocking incident, a three-year-old boy was set ablaze by his 16-year-old neighbour after the boy failed to give way for the neighbour’s motorbike.
The incident took place at Kalapathar in Hyderabad on Monday.
The three-year-old Mohammed Ali Shair is the youngest of the four children belonging to auto rickshaw driver Md Rahim and Yasmin. When the incident occurred, Ali was playing in front of their house along with few other kids.
The 16-year-old boy arrived there on his bike and he shouted at the kids to move away. The child, who didn’t understood what the boy meant and did not move.
“He threatened my son once again. But when he did not move he took petrol from his bike, poured it on the child and set him ablaze,” Deccan Chronicle quoted the boy’s father.
“He has burns on his neck, head, back and shoulders. Doctors said his condition is critical and that he needs better treatment. Only God can save my child now,” Rahim added.
Ali Sahar was immediately rushed to Osmania General Hospital and the doctors say that his condition is critical and he needs better treatment.
Telangana Health Minister C Laxma Reddy assured that the government would ensure the best possible treatment for the boy.
Meanwhile the Kalapathar police have registered a case under IPC section 285 (Negligent conduct with respect to fire or combustible matter) based on Rahim’s complaint.
“We found the minor boy was playing with a petrol bottle and accidentally petrol spilled and fell on Ali who was standing nearby,” India Today quoted G.Sravan Kumar, Sub Inspector of Kalapathar.
