Cleveland Heights police on Sunday arrested a suspect.
A 15-year-old Indian American boy was shot dead by an armed robber in Ohio’s Cleveland Heights.
Sunny Patel was pronounced died on Friday night after a robber barged into Mr Hero restaurant owned by the boy’s uncle on South Taylor road and shot him in the head, the Times of India reports.
Patel was shot in the head and died at University Hospitals. He was a Mayfield High School student and was the only child of Ravi Kantibhai Patel, who move to US from Gujarat’s Anand district.
“The boy was born in the United States. In fact, Ravi’s father was a philanthropist who had donated a good amount to erect an entrance gate at Demol village,” Times of India quoted Hasmukh Patel, a relative of the boy’s family from Anand’s Demol village.
Cleveland Heights police on Sunday arrested a suspect, who was seen in the CCTV camera footage. However, the police has not identified the person and didn’t file any charges against him.
According to police, the suspect entered the restaurant and shot Patel in the head before taking money from the register and running away.
In January, A 23-year-old Indian American, Mitesh Patel was shot dead by robbers in Los Angeles when he was about to step of his liquor store.
