Vivek Ravishanker from Connecticut gets $43,200 in 3-day winning streak on ‘Jeopardy’

An Indian American consultant Vivek Ravishanker has amassed a total of $43,200 in a three-day winning streak on the TV quiz show ‘Jeopardy’ hosted by Alex Trebek.

Ravishanker, from Higganum, Connecticut, beat returning champion Thea Lawton, and then followed it up with two consecutive victories on the long-time running show, considered the toughest quiz show on American television.

Ravishanker will be back tonight to try continue his winning streak and amass some more moolah along the way.

In the episode where he beat Lawton, Ravishanker answered correctly the final Jeopardy question in the category, “European Countries”: “This nation joined the Warsaw Pact in 1955 and NATO in 2009, and was alphabetically first in each.” The answer: “What is Albania?”

Showing his vast repertoire of knowledge of trivia, Ravishanker also aced a segment on the Final Jeopardy! The clue was about Entertainment Weekly’s 50 Greatest Movie Directors, which was published two decades ago. Here’s the clue: “He ‘inaugurated a new depth—both visually…and emotionally…and [had] a voice that paid the bills until the end.”
