Trident Lakes is for the wealthy around the world.
A 700-acre luxury resort is being built at a cost of $300 million in Fannin County, Texas, for people from across the world who expect doomsday.
The resort with five-star facilities will have advanced features like bunker condominiums to survive doomsday, reported CBS Local.
“It’s going to be one of America’s most fun, most plush, and also one of its safest neighborhoods. It’s going to be a five-star resort with DEFCON 1 preparedness,” said Richie Whitt, communications director for the community.
The resort named Trident Lakes will have a $4 million fountain at its center along with an 18-hole golf course, three lagoons with white sand beaches, a spa, jogging trails, equestrian areas, polo fields, shooting ranges, a driving range, shops, restaurants, and helipads. The developers are assuring facilities to survive worst scenarios to woo people from across the world.
The 50-foot fountain Poseidon statue holding a golden trident will be one of the largest fountains in the world giving the county a reason to cheer.
“It’ll be one of the largest fountains in the world, it’ll be bigger square footage than the Bellagio (casino) fountains in Las Vegas,” said Whitt.
The project will have 400 condominiums that can accommodate about 1600 people when completed. About 90 percent of the condos will be underground. Vintuary Holdings, the developer is planning to construct three-floor plans from 900 to 3,600 square feet. The project will be completed in several phases.
“It’s not just a hole in the ground to hide in — it’s going to be one of the most plush resorts in all of Texas, if not America,” Whitt told Herald Democrat.
Terraces overlooking lagoons and white sand beaches will be built above underground condos. Tunnels will be constructed to connect underground tunnels. As safety is the most important requirement, the fortress-like resort will be protected with a 12-foot wall with watch towers covering the property.
Separate energy and water sources will be made for the community to ensure unrestrained availability. Though there is high demand for the property, only invited clients like athletes and celebrities will be allotted condos in the first phase. Interested parties can register through the community’s website, but according to reports, more than 500 people from across the country, Canada, England, Australia, and New Zealand are already on the waiting list. First residents are likely to move to the resort in early 2018.
