Jaitly will try to bring more multinationals into India.
Times Internet Limited (TIL), the digital business arm of Bennett, Coleman and Company Limited, on Wednesday, appointed former Twitter India head Rishi Jaitly as the CEO of Times Global Partners, a wing of the company that has partnered with leading technology and media firms across the world.
Jaitly left Twitter two weeks back after serving four years at the microblogging company. He was named as vice-president, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and North Africa for the company in 2014. Prior to joining Twitter, he served at Google as the head of public-private partnerships in India from 2007 to 2009.
“We are thrilled to welcome Rishi to the Times Group. In the last decade, under Rishi’s leadership, both Twitter and Google have successfully entered the Indian market, immersing themselves in every segment of the country’s business, media and digital landscapes,” said Satyan Gajwani, vice-chairman, TIL, in an official statement.
Times Internet is the largest Indian Internet Network and the digital venture of Times of India, India’s largest media, and entertainment group. As per comScore, it reaches 60 million visitors. As per Google analytics, it reaches over 150m visitors and serves 2 billion page views every month across web and mobile.
Times Global Partners (TGP) helps global organizations keen to expand their reach in India using their online media platforms. It has partnered with several international companies like Uber, Airbnb, Coursera, Vice and the Huffington Post.
