Cricketer Yuvraj Singh and actress Hazel Keech tied the knot in a gurudwara ceremony on Wednesday after a year-long engagement.
The event took place at the dera of Baba Ram Singh Ganduan Wale in Fatehgarh Sahib, about 40 kms from the cricketer’s hometown Chandigarh.
Hazel Keech looked beautiful in a maroon lehenga with shades of pink on sleeves. Yuvraj looked classy wearing red sherwani, cream colourd churidar with a red turban and ‘Sehraa’. Yuvi grew a beard for the ceremony.
Yuvraj’s mother Shabnam Singh, relatives and close friends were among the limited number of guests.
Yuvi’s cricketer father Yograj singh did not attend the ceremony at the gurudwara as he reportedly refused to attend on account of the wedding being overseen by a Dera leader, saying, “He believes in god, not religious leaders.”
The Punjabi wedding will be followed by a Hindu ceremony in Goa on December 2 and a grand reception in Delhi.
The couple had a grand pre-wedding bash on November 29, with the mehendi, sangeet sessions and a cocktail party, that turned to be a star-studded affair.
The Indian cricket team finished their last Test with England on the same day and celebrated victory with their good friend Yuvraj.
Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and other players were seen having a gala time at the wedding eve.
