Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s 23-year-old daughter Sara Ali Khan is all set for her acting debut opposite Hrithik Roshan in director Karan Malhotra’s next, reports Times of India.
Earlier, Sara’s debut was planned opposite Tiger Shroff in Karan Johar’s ‘Student Of The Year 2’. However, Amrita Singh was reportedly not convinced that the film would make for a proper launch for Sara.
“She is back on-board, but with a bigger and better project, after the differences have been ironed out. She will be the leading lady of Karan Malhotra’s comedy film, a first-of-its-kind journey,” a source revealed to Mirror, reports Times of India.
Now, with their leading pair on board, the budget comedy-drama written by Malhotra is ready to roll in March 2017, the report says.
Karan Malhotra, who started out as an assistant on films like ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ and ‘My Name Is Khan’, made his directorial debut with ‘Agneepath’ remake with Hrithik in lead. He next directed Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Malhotra, Jacqueline Fernandez and Jackie Shroff in Brothers. The writer-director has been in news for the last three years for Karan Johar’s ambitious project ‘Shuddhi’, and adaptation on Amish Tripathi’s ‘Immortals of Meluha’, which was eventually shelved.
Recently graduated from Columbia University in New York, Sara Ali Khan has often been spotted with her father and brother Ibrahim out for luncheons and parties.
Saif married Amrita Singh, 58, in 1991 and together they have two children – Sara and Ibrahim, 15. The couple divorced in 2004. Later, In 2012 Saif married actress Kareena Kapoor and their first baby is expected to arrive this week.
