Switzerland stood first in the list of highest paid countries.
A new survey conducted by HSBC has found that the foreign employees living in India are the third top paid in the world.
The survey that analyzed the average salary of more than 29,000 foreigners living in 100 countries found that the expats living in India earned an average salary of $145,057.
Switzerland stood first in the list of highest paid countries with an average salary of $188,275 followed by Hong Kong with $169,756.
The survey has found that India has the highest number of expats working on international assignments. It also says that like Switzerland and Hong Kong, Indi has its financial capital in Mumbai.
The survey reports that the respondents shared positive thoughts about their work experience in India. Many found that India has one of the best platforms in the world to make progress in the career. They also found India a fertile land for starting a business and achieving long-term financial goals.
The report says that the foreign employees in India are more than happy as almost 89% of them get at least one financial benefit from the employer for living in India. More than 38% of foreign employees working in India responded that they were able to same for the studies of their children. Over 44% of foreigners who took part in the survey said they were able to make progress towards achieving long-term goals and investments.
The survey found that India is one of the most preferred locations in Asia Pacific for expats. The report says 11% of expats have successfully set up businesses in India compared to an average 5% across the Asia Pacific.
Nearly two-thirds, or 64%, of expats living in India, said they had confidence in the country and just over half–53%–said they had confidence in the political system.
“Expats ranked Switzerland highly for both financial and personal well-being criteria,” said Dean Blackburn, head of HSBC Expat. “The combination of high salaries and excellent work culture has placed Switzerland at the top of the careers league table.”
“Expats in Sweden and Germany enjoy benefits outside the financial side of work,” said Blackburn. “Germany offers the best job security for expats. Sweden, as well as topping the tables for work culture, is praised by 79 percent of expats for its excellent work-life balance.”
