Police found two bloodstained butcher knives.
In a shocking incident, a 50-year-old man allegedly killed 10 female members of his family including eight children and committed suicide in Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi district.
According to police, the bodies of all ten members were found inside the house with their throats slit.
The preliminary enquiry has found that Jamaludeen spiked the food served for dinner with sedative, falsely claiming that the it was meant for good health during winter. As the sedative took effect the 50-year-old went on a killing spree, murdering 10 women members of his family who were fast asleep on the veranda.
According to reports the victims of the cold murder include the daughters and nieces of Jamaludeen aged between five and 17.
Fortunately for his second wife and her daughter 20, who were sleeping in a closed room that was locked from inside. Even though both of them were sedated, Jamaludeen couldn’t open the door, says reports.
Two others who survived the brutal homicide were the two brothers of Jamaludeen – Samsudeen and Raees, both of them were out of town on the fateful day.
The dead included Jamaludeen’s five daughters — Tabassum, Afreen, Mariam, Sania, and Ujma. Besides, Samsudeen’s 35-year-old wife Hussain Bano, their daughters Rubina and Tahseen, and Raees’s daughters Mahek and Nijar Fatima were also murdered.
According to the statement recorded by the two surviving women, Jamaludeen committed suicide after murdering the rest of the family.
Jamaludeen is the breadwinner of the family as his two brothers were jobless. He ran a battery and gas filling station in the village.
In the meanwhile, the police are reportedly exploring other angles as they have found a few logical mismatches in the scene of the crime. They suspect the involvement of others in the murder who might have framed Jamaludeen by hanging him after committing the gruesome murders.
The police found two bloodstained butcher knives from the spot that has increased the suspicion about the involvement of a third party.
Inspector General of police A Satish Ganesh said: “Why would Jamaludeen use two draggers if he single-handedly killed the children and his brother’s wife before committing suicide.”
“A team from Lucknow will collect forensic evidence. A forensic expert will be present during the post-mortem examination of the bodies on Thursday,” Ganesh added.
